Research Profile

Julia Wiessmann is a doctoral researcher and associate lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at the chair of Prof. Dr. Croissant. Her research interests extend into the topics of comparative politics, social movement studies, and conflict studies. Her regional focus is on South Asia and Southeast Asia. In her dissertation, she analyzes the connection between political violence and autocratization.

Julia Wiessmann studied political science, sociology, philosophy, and business and economics at the Universities of Würzburg, Heidelberg, and Prague. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in March 2022.
