Curriculum Vitae
Jale Tosun, born in 1980, is Professor of Political Science at the IPW. She studied political science and public administration in Konstanz and Pavia and earned her doctorate at the University of Konstanz with a thesis on transition-related changes in environmental policy in Latin America and Eastern Europe. After working as a Research Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research, she joined the IPW as a Junior Professor in October 2013. She has been Professor of Political Science since March 2015.
Her teaching and research focus on the comparative study of regulation in the fields of environment, energy, climate change and sustainability, as well as distributive conflicts within the European Union and the EU's influence on regulation in third countries. Jale Tosun is co-editor of the journals Policy Sciences and Zeitschrift für Umweltpolitik & Umweltrecht and leads a working group in the COST Action INOGOV. She is an active member of the Heidelberg Center for the Environment and an External Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research.
