Course enrollment

General information about the summer semester 2026

  • For courses offered by the Institute for Political Science (IPW), online registration via heiCO is required. This also applies to students from other disciplines.
  • As a political science student, please ensure that you register for IPW courses under the ‘Political Science’ degree programme.
  • Please be aware of overlapping dates and individual sessions that take place in block format. As a rule, please only register for courses that you are actually able and willing to attend.
  • For basic seminars, please indicate 3 group preferences to ensure that you get a place. Again, please be aware of overlapping dates.
  • The study plan context you specify when registering for a course (major examination/minor examination) is not binding. Course registration is not the same as examination registration.
  • Please note that courses that do not have a course number beginning with 180512/522... are teaching imports! These courses may have different registration regulations, limits on the number of participants or subject-specific prerequisites and performance requirements. In particular, check the number of credit points you can acquire - this may differ from the credit point scheme of the IPW. Please consult the course descriptions and, if necessary, the course instructors for more information.
  • You can view the final and binding confirmation of enrollment on 12.04.2026 as of 8 p.m. in your course plan. All other earlier registrations are subject to confirmation.
