Research Profile
Maria Louise Brønnum Herz is an experienced research administrator and project coordinator with expertise in international research collaboration, project management, and academic event coordination.
In her current position, Maria administers research projects for Prof. Dr. Tosun. Her responsibilities include daily office administration, project coordination, and academic event management. She also serves as a liaison to international partners and research institutions and, drawing on her academic background in communication, contributes to overseeing communication activities at IPW in close collaboration with the communications coordinator.
She holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Cultural Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark (2011) . Following her graduation, she worked as a Nordic Project Manager for a leading private-sector organisation, where she was responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of a cross-Nordic project spanning five offices in four Nordic countries. As part of this role, she contributed to the establishment of a new office in Helsinki, where she developed and maintained partnerships with embassies, consulates, and international diplomatic representatives.
Maria subsequently joined the University of Oxford as an administrator within a internationally recognised neuroscience research group. In this position, she supported the administration of research activities, coordinated academic events, and assisted in the development and maintenance of international research partnerships.
After completing her fixed-term appointment in Oxford, Maria returned to Denmark to join the Danish Research Centre for the Working Environment. There, she served as Project Coordinator for a large-scale EU Horizon 2020 project with a total budget of €7 million, involving 27 countries and approximately 150 researchers and project participants. Her responsibilities included acting as the primary liaison between international consortium partners, coordinating project activities, and planning and managing international meetings and events both within and outside Denmark.
